We can’t Sign in through Cached credentials – Sometimes it happens as we try to login into our system with cached credentials in our system and might receive certain errors as – we can’t sign in with this user name and ID as our domain is not available. Try to establish a connection with our organization network. If it still persists try sign in with the last credentials.

Clearly, It points to an issue related to domain joining, user can delete the computer the domain and rejoin them. It won’t work sometime, there are few other steps that might be helpful to us is to boot the system without having internet connection or like removing the local profile directory or changing the GPO for event log retention etc.

Finally after doing all tricks we must proceed to troubleshooting:-

Check the DNS Setting:-

Irregular DNS setting leads to such kinds of errors. So we must check our DNS to sort such kinds of problem.

Removing user form Protected Group:-

Sometimes we are unable to log in as because we are in protected under group and available in active directory. For this we need to contact to our System Administrator.

Using Security Policy:-

While using this functionality we must backup our data as during this process the major threat is of losing our data or information.

Click Win +R to open the Run Window and type the command secpol.msc and hit the enter key. It will open the Security policy Snap- in.
In the Security policy snap in window, move to Security Setting> Local Files, and click on Security Option.
In the right pane, search for the policy interactive logon. i.e. number of pervious logons to cache file, if the domain controller is not available.
Double click on the policy number and update the value.
Set the value of “Do not Cache Logons” to 0.
