The error message resembles “Check to make sure that it’s connected and installed properly, that it isn’t being blocked by anti-virus software, and that your camera drivers are up to date. If you need it, here’s the error code: 0xA00F4244 (0xC00DABE0)”. At the bottom, there is an error code – 0xA00F4244 (0xC00DABE0). The error code 0xA00F4244 or 0x200F4244 are same. - Check webcam whether it is installed correctly or not
This is the first error you need to clarify. Webcam Installation means connection of Camera with the PC (Desktop). Check whether Webcam’s USB port is working correctly or not. If not change the USB port completely. Also check the PC inbuilt USB connector. If it is good, then fine. Else change it.
Updating of Webcam driver
If you are a first time user, you need to install webcam driver properly. Choose correct driver for your camera. Try to resemble the manufacturing companies. If you have already installed a driver and still having the issue, then you need to update the installed driver. For updating you have two options –
- Use free Driver Updater Software.
- Update the device driver manually.
How to update the device driver manually?
Press Win+X and click on Device Manager from the list. Navigate to Imaging Device and select the default camera. Right click on device driver and click on Update driver option.
Select the option prompting Search automatically for updated driver software. Finally wait till the process ends completely. Then restart the camera and check if problem is solved.
Uninstall then reinstall the Webcam driver
Suppose you face an issue on driver updating, then it is good to uninstall then reinstall it fresh. This can be done manually. Press Win+X and open the Device Manager. Navigate to Imaging devices. Right click on Device driver and select Properties. A new window will open. Switch to Driver tab. Click on Uninstall Device button.
Roll back to Older Version of Driver
If webcam stopped working after recent driver update, then you need to roll back to the older version of driver. Press Win+X and open the Device Manager. Navigate to Imaging devices. Right click on Device driver and select Properties. A new window will open. Switch to driver tab. Then click on Roll back driver button. Then enter yes if asked on next window.
Check the running Antivirus
In most cases, antivirus blocks the normal webcam operation. So you need to disable the antivirus to check if problem is solved or not.
