For soft work Touchpad is awesome, but for hardcore work it is time consuming & irritating. So type of work signifies the use of pointing devices. Procedure to fix Mouse Pointer Freezing Running Slow on Windows 10

First of all perform basic operations like cleaning mouse and mouse pad. The mouse gets dirty, Clean it. Clean bottom surface of mouse. Clean Mouse pad with a brush. Layer light can get dirty with dust. Clean it properly. If cleaning does not solve the issue, perform steps given below.

  • Change default USB Port

Unplug mouse connector from default USB port and Plug it on another one. If you think that we need to change it. Replace it with a new one. Continues Plugging – Unplugging of dongle might have loosen it.

  • Set Mouse Settings to default

Checking mouse with its default setting might fix the issue. So set it to default once. Go to Start. Click on Gear Icon known as Setting. Click on Devices Tab. Navigate to left panel of the Window. Click on Mouse option. On right side of the Window, under Related Settings, Click on Additional Mouse Options. Navigate to Pointers Tab. Click on “Use Default” button, then Apply & OK.

  

  • Smooth Scrolling Setting

This setting will be helpful when website content is scrolling Up & Down too quickly. So we need to either disable or reduce value of Smooth Scrolling. Go to Start. Click on Gear Icon known as Setting. Click on Devices Tab. Navigate to left panel of the Window. Click on Mouse option. On right side of the Window, under Related Settings, Click on Additional Mouse Options. Navigate to Wheel Tab. Adjust vertical & horizontal scrolling value as per requirement.

  • Rollback/ Update the drivers

This is performed when problem arises after Windows or Driver update. In both cases we need to Rollback/ Update the driver. Press Win Key + X and Click on Device Manager. Navigate to Mice and Other Pointing Devices. Select your mouse and right click to open properties. Navigate to Driver Tab. Here you will find both the options. Rollback is available only when update is recent. So Click on Update Driver and see if problem is solved.
