But sometimes it gets stuck or stop due to unknown reasons. Without regular updates our system seems to be outdated. The stucking are known through error messages like incompatible application, blocking application or error codes. The upgrade stops because few apps might be blocking the update progress. In this article we will see an error message which is blocking the updates. The error is “Uninstall this app now because it isn’t compatible with Windows 10”.

The error message is associated as with an error code Oxc1900208. If in case it is installed, you may uninstall it manually. But sometimes the app is not installed and it is like traces of association. The manual uninstall option lets you identify and remove those associations. A user can run Windows 10 upgrade Advisor to check those culprit apps which will block update in future.

Procedure to remove incompatible blocking applications

  • Open File Explorer and navigate to View tab. Enable the checkbox for Hidden items.
  • Select “This PC” and Type “*_APPRIASER_HumanReadable.xml” in the search box. Detect the file name.
  • Now Right click the file name with _APPRAISER_HumanReadable.xml and Open it in Notepad.
  • Press CTRL+F and search for “DT_ANY_FMC_BlockingApplication”. Check its value to True.
  • Again, press CTRL+F and search for “LowerCaseLongPathUnexpanded”. It contains file path as value. You need to remove or transfer to another drive.
  • You may copy the file path in Notepad.
  • Now, Paste the file path into the File Explorer. Once the blocking executable file (.exe) is found, you may transfer it to another drive or delete it.

Alternatively, you may remove those blocking applications with the help of PowerShell Script. Powershell script can be downloaded from Microsoft. A zip file with name AppRPS.zip will be downloaded. Unzip and run it on administrator privilege. As a result the blocking apps will be moved or deleted. How to fix Uninstall now because it is not compatible with Windows 10.
