How to fix error 0xc0000022 on opening Adobe Reader – Most of us use abode reader program for accessing our document, text or other readable files. But when you open Adobe and receive an error saying “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application” then you need to handle it quickly to access the files. So, we go for reinstallation but problem remained as is it. Procedure to fix “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application”.

  1. Firstly, Either Install or repair Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2013

The error may generate due to absence or corrupted files in Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package. So, user need to install a new one or repair if it already exists in the system. You can repair it by following below procedure.

Open control panel window and go to Programs and Features. In the list you will find Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package. Then right click on it and select Change option. After clicking in Change, select the Repair option. It will take few minutes in processing after that restart your PC to check problem is solved or not. If not uninstall the package and download it from the Microsoft Website and install. If problem persists follow the next procedure given below.

  1. Update or Change the File Permission –

In some case the given file permission option creates the problem. You need to allot full control over the file for accessing it without any error. If you want to correct or change the file permission then follow the steps below.

Open Adobe reader apps and go to properties. Now navigate to Security tab and click on Edit button. A new pop up window will open, where you need to select the current user account and make sure the Full Control option is checked. Perform check if not, save and exit. Restart the application again and check that problem is solved.
