Free Microsoft Window 10 upgrade will end after 31 Dec
Free Microsoft Window 10 upgrade will end after 31 Dec – In order to run Window 10 onto billions of computers, Microsoft had earlier allowed free upgrade from older versions of Window like Window 7, Window 8 and other. But recently Microsoft has decided to stop such upgrade after December 31st. The free upgrade to Window 10 has an expiration date which was decided by Microsoft recently. Now Microsoft is going to end such offer after 31st of December.
The company had officially closed such upgradation in July but exception was for users who are using assistive technology. The users who used Braille screens, Screen readers and Magnifier are kept aside with the closure of free upgradation. The news was revealed from tweet by Microsoft Accessibility Twitter account in October – “The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update begins rolling out today!”.
But that exceptions for assistive tech users are going to end after 31st of December. The next tweet is “If you’re using assistive technologies and want to update to Windows 10, free upgrade available until Dec. 31, 2017”. The tweet clearly states the end of free upgrade to window after Dec 31 for users who are using assistive technology such as Braille screens, screen readers or magnifier.
Microsoft is known for massive legacy users who are perfectly amusing using Window 7 or Window 8 and about 3.89 percent of Window users are still using Window XP version. According to Microsoft Executives” We’re pleased with our progress to date, but due to the focusing of our phone hardware business, it will take longer than FY18 for us to reach our goal of 1 billion monthly active devices”. Microsoft had not revealed more about expiration date issue, what will user do after such closure. Since such move is strategic and whole story will be clear soon.
