Alternatively, it can be opened by using Win+X and ‘g’ key simultaneously. Go to System tools followed by Local Users and Groups > Users.

From the list select the user and go to properties after clicking right click on it.
Navigate to General Tab where you see the “Disable Account” option. Perform Check, Apply and OK. After disabling the account, it will disappear from the “Switch Account” option and login prompt page.

This method is most suitable for those who are expert in command prompt. Just enter the command to disable as well as enable it. You need to enter the five-word command to perform the task. Before proceeding you must have the account name in hand.
- Open the Command Prompt Window and right click to run it as administrator. You will be asked Yes/No, select yes.
- Enter the following command to disable the account.
Net user <accountname> / active:no (This is for Disable the account)
Net user <accountname> / active:yes (This is for enable it back)
In the above command, user need to replace <accountname> with the original account name.
