Adobe will Retreat Flash Feature on the Internet by 2020 – Recently Adobe Company has announced that it will end up the Flash service on internet by 2020. It revealed this striking news through a blog post on internet. According to Blog Post “We will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to these new open formats”- Adobe. This decision is inevitable and not surprising.
This is the move which will effectively put an end to flash. Most of the Browser started blocking Flash features on web pages. Google, a giant search engine has also started blocking Flash on Google Chrome. It has disabled flash features on Chrome by default. Although user can turn on flash manually on Google Chrome. According to Microsoft, it would disable Flash from Edge and Internet Explorer by 2019. While Apple Safari has added “opt-in” structure for using Flash. Other browsers are also looking to do the same with flash services provided by Adobe.
After such announcement Adobe says that it will continue working towards development of other platforms which include HTML 5. It has planned to move aggressively to EOL flash in certain geographies where unlicensed and outdated versions of Flash player are being distributed across”.
