Whenever a document is received from internet it gets saved in PDF format. Alternatively, the document available on internet is mostly in PDF format. Microsoft Edge use PDF as default document format. It is user friendly format that allow easy learning, searching, formatting and projecting. Then, what will happen if Edge can't open PDF based documents and shows error. Recently, few edge users had seen a new error message as a result of not opening of PDF based documents. The error message is shown below. INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND. PDF Not Open in Edge INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND


Whenever attempts are made to read PDF document, it tends to pop up an error message - INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND. No need to worry about. We have couple of fixes to this problem. There are four unique procedures to counter the error message. They are explained below successively.

The users need to Repair Edge/ Disable TCP Fast open/ Flush DNS / Reset Edge as default PDF reader.



You need to Open Settings, go for Default Apps, then Choose default apps by file type. Then select PDF and ensure EDGE as the default browser.

  • Flush the DNS (Domain Name Space)

We can empty DNS cache memory using command prompt. Flushing the DNS will clear cache memory junk files. Open Run Command by clicking Windows Key + R. Now type ipconfig/ flushdns and hit enter. Then prompt will show message that clarify DNS is flushed. The actual message will be "Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache".

  • Repair Microsoft Edge

First of all open Settings Panel by pressing Windows Key + I. Then select Apps from the menu. Navigate to Apps & Features. Click on Microsoft Edge, then on Advanced Options. Finally click on Repair. Wait till it is completely done.

  • Disable TCP Fast Open -

Open Microsoft Edge browser, type about:flags in the address field and press enter. Navigate below to Networking and look for Enable TCP Fast Open. Uncheck the option there and restart the browser to see the changes.
