File Tagging makes searching more efficient in Windows 10 - We use Cortana and other personal assistant on Computers who perform most of our tasks with their own. They are like friends who are capable of doing intelligent works either online or offline. Suppose we want to search a file on our system and could not find it. Cortana is capable of searching these files easily. In this article we will focus on a new method to make searching more significant than before.
The searching can be more efficiently done with the help of TAGS attached with a file. The tags are metadata associated with the files and are part of properties. It will be beneficial because when different type of files falls into multiple categories belonging to multiple persons, tags make sense. We keep them organized in different folders but when we put tags with it, we can see them in one window.
Procedure to TAG files in Windows 10 PC
Select a file, right click on it and open properties. Navigate to details tab and look the property tags. Select the empty place beside it to convert it to the text box. You can input one or multiple tags here. By adding a semicolon between them, we can add multiple tags. Press Enter and then OK.
How to Search files using tags?
Just type in the Cortana search box and then switch to documents tag. Cortana offers document filter search as soon we click the search box. It we have large no of files with similar tags, then we can use filter option easily. We can narrow down search results by type. It supports file types – Folder, Emails, Image, Settings, videos, apps and others.
How to add tags to multiple files?
Select multiple files by using CTRL key in the same directory. Right click and open properties. Navigate to details tab. Perform the same procedure written above.
