Screen Auto Rotation not working in Tablet Mode on Windows 10 - Windows 10 is having many extraordinary features embedded on it. Of those features one is using a laptop as Tablet. You can use laptop as tablets using the features available on Window 10 OS. In tablets we have seen a imagine facility of auto rotation of images or videos or applications. This autorotation is one of the features mostly used on bigger devices such as Smartphone or Tablets.
This feature is more convenient when you want to change object orientation from portrait to landscape or vice versa. The working principle states that there is a sensor to detect the rotation and adjustment of display as per current orientation. The main reason behind the problem is due to issue of software or problem with device drivers. Before all, we advise our readers to update their OS first which might fix software related issues. There are two main troubleshooting steps to retreat auto rotation issue.
- First of all Turn Off the Rotation Lock -
If you are in laptop mode, convert it from Laptop mode to Tablet mode. Open the Action Center in the Taskbar and toggle the Rotation lock to off position. Alternatively, Open Action Center and click on Tablet mode to convert successfully.
- Update the Device Drivers –
Go to Control Panel and click on Device Manager and navigate to Sensor I/O devices. Now right click on the sensor devices and click on Update driver option. Then choose the "Search automatically for updated driver software" option. After installation restart the device to see it worked or not.
Why Screen Auto Rotation Grey out?
If you are facing Grey out during screen auto rotation then Registry Editor will solve the issue. Open the Run command and type regedit and click Ok. Now navigate to the following path –
Navigate to LastOrientation option and double click on it. Then a window will open asking to enter DWORD value data. Enter 1 and click on OK to save the changes.
