If you want to block a specific SSID or wireless network in your computer, you need to enter the following command in Run Window. Open the Run command window with administrator privileged and enter the command given below.


netsh wlan add filter permission=block ssid="Wireless Network Name" networktype=infrastructure


User need to enter the valid wireless network name at correct place in the command code. After execution if you receive a message prompting "The filter is added on the system successfully", it means blocking is done successfully.


How to remove a blocked WiFi network in Windows 10?


If you have blocked a wrong wireless network and want to delete that filter you need to enter the following command in Run window. The user needs to enter the valid wireless network name in the spaces within the commas.


netsh wlan delete filter permission=block ssid="Wireless Network Name" networktype=infrastructure

  • If a user needs to hide all the WiFi network and allow only a particular one. First of all allow a particular Wi-Fi network for execution.



netsh wlan add filter permission=allow ssid="Wireless Network Name" networktype=infrastructure



  • To hide all the networks except the allowed one, execute the command.



netsh wlan add filter permission=denyall networktype=infrastructure



  • If you want to remove the "deny all" filter or you want to remove all the network names from the blocklist, the following command will execute.



netsh wlan delete filter permission=denyall networktype=infrastructure
