Disable Driver Signature Enforcement on Windows 10 - In our computer system there are many driver software working independently to accomplish unique task. These drivers are downloaded automatically at the time of windows update or manually by third party program. These downloaded drivers require digital signing with Microsoft at the time of installation or downloading. The Window device installation uses digital signature to verify the integrity of driver packages and identity of the vendor offering driver. Digital Signature is an electronic security mark that certifies the publisher and info related to driver software. In case a driver not certified by Microsoft, Window will not run it on either 32 bit or 64 bit system. This condition is known as Driver Signature enforcement. If we want to run an unknown driver program on window 10 then we need to disable driver software enforcement law.


Disable Driver Signature Enforcement on Windows 10

There are three basic methods of disabling the Enforcement on Window 10:-



  1. Advanced Booting Option



Restart your Computer holding Shift key and Restart option simultaneously. As a result an advanced option menu will open. There you will find four options, where you need to select only Troubleshoot. After clicking Troubleshoot you will see a window names advanced options. In Advanced option window select Startup Settings. The startup setting window consists of several options, press 7 on keyboard to select the 7th option "Disable driver signature enforcement". This will automatically disable the driver signature enforcement, now restart your PC.



  1. Disable Device Driver Signing -



Sign in window with administrator privileges and open Run command to execute the following command – bcdedit.exe / set nointegritychecks on


This will automatically disable the driver signature enforcement on your device. If a user wishes to enable signature enforcement he need to enter on Run command – bcdedit.exe / set nointegritychecks off



  1. Enable Test Signing mode -



To enable Test mode user need to open command prompt with admin privileges and enter the following code – bcdedit /set testsigning on


After entering the above code, you will see a message prompting "The value is protected by secure boot policy". It means secure boot is enabled in UEFI firmware. Disabling UEFI Firmware settings will enable test signing mode via Advanced Startup Options. Now restart your computer to enter test mode.
