How to Fix Sound Problem in Windows - In Windows System, Several issues are found related to Sound or Audio by the users. All such issues can be fixed by the user without the help of Technician. Here we advised few methods or steps which should be followed to counter all such issues related to sound or audio problems. There are few methods which should be opted by the user to solve their problem.

Techniques to handle Sound Problem in Windows

  1. Run Troubleshooter – This is the method which can solve the problem automatically. This is the primary method which should be opted by the user first. After wards if problem persists go for second option.

    Path: Start > Troubleshoot > Playing Audio > Run the Troubleshooter

  2. Check Device Manager – Device manager for this will be audio driver. Here the audio driver is checked, uninstalled and reinstalled. If this method does not work, go to manufacture's website and follow their instructions.

    Path to Access – Start> Device Manager> Sound, Video and game controllers> Select your Card and Open > Select Driver Tab> Select Update Driver.

  3. Check Cables and Volume

Some of the basic steps for this will be –

  1. Check your speaker and head phone cable or may be wrong jack insertion.

  2. Check your power and volume levels/ buttons and set all to maximum.

  3. Establish connection using different USB port.

  4. Some speakers or devices have their own volume controllers, see all of them. Check them all and if problem continues go for next step.

If you are using audio device using USB or HDMI then you must set default device. Path for this should be – Start> Sound> Playback> Select appropriate device> Set Default.

Try for different audio Formats –

Start > Sound> Sound Control Panel > Playback > Default Device > Select Properties> Advanced Tab > Default format > Change for new setting and retest your audio device.
