Definition: Computer Hardware Physical Components - Computer hardware is the collection of physical components that combined together to functionalise a computer system. Computer hardware are the physical parts or components of a computer, example are monitor, Plotter, Microphones, Camera, keyboard, computer data storage, graphic card, sound card, motherboard and etc.
Without a hardware, your computer could not exist and software could not be used at all. Hardware upgradation can be done in order to improve the performance of new hardware to a computer.
What are the Types of Computer hardware?
The hardware of a computer is divided into two sections namely – External and Internal hardware which are attached to accomplish out result oriented computing.
- External Hardware – The hardware which are attached to the computer from outside to access the features embedded in motherboard and Hardware device. Some of the names of external hardware are given below.
Flat-panel, Monitor, and LCD, Keyboard, Microphone, Mouse, Printer, Projector, Scanner, Speakers, USB thumb drive.
- Internal Hardware – The hardware device which are attached or embedded inside the CPU Board. All the devices are attached to each other to increase the reliability of Computer hardware. Some of the main internal hardware are given below
Motherboard, Network card, RAM, Video
Processor (CPU), Sound card, Blu-ray, CD- ROM, DVD, floppy drive, hard drive, Fan (heat sink), Modem card and others.
