Facebook Will Start Paid News Subscription in October – The social networking Giant Facebook is going to launch paid news subscription product. The initial testing for this product will start in October. According to Campbell Brown, the head of Facebook news partnership, the news subscription service inherit features based on Facebook instant article containing hundreds of stories published by publishers based on reader’s interest and preference. The Facebook will erect a paywall for readers to become a subscribers of the platform after they can access 10 articles. It means a reader will be able to read 10 articles from a publisher before being subscribed but in order to read further the reader has to subscribe for this service.

Facebook will also give publication access to all subscriber data through which they can communicate their subscriber in a better way. The biggest source of revenue for any website or publication is advertising. That much of revenue can’t be earned through circulation. Google and Facebook manages about 2/3rd of the digital advertising media. According to the report the revenue from advertising declined to 16 billion dollar in 2016 from about 50 billion dollar 10 years ago. This news subscription feature being organised by Facebook will surplus more revenue to the Giant.

Now it is interesting to see whether this paid subscription will help the publishers to make money or will there be enough sources of free information on the internet to keep the readers fruitful for coming years.
